What charges should be reviewed on a half-hourly electricity supply?
The relevant charges vary by site, region, supplier and contract structure. A review may include the unit rate, standing charge, agreed-capacity or excess-capacity charges, Distribution Use of System charges, Transmission Network Use of System charges, Climate Change Levy, metering charges and other non-commodity or pass-through costs. We explain which charges apply to your supply and how each supplier proposes to recover them.

What is half-hourly electricity data?+
Half-hourly data is the electricity consumption recorded for every 30-minute period. A Half-Hourly Data Collector retrieves, validates and processes this information, allowing the supply and its demand pattern to be reviewed in much greater detail.
Why does kVA capacity matter?+
kVA is the agreed electrical capacity available to the site. Capacity can affect network and standing charges, so a level that is materially higher than the business requires may add unnecessary cost, while insufficient capacity can create excess-capacity charges.
What are MOP, DC and DA contracts?+
The Meter Operator is responsible for specified metering equipment services. The Data Collector retrieves and validates half-hourly data, while the Data Aggregator combines validated data for electricity-market settlement. These services may be included within a supplier arrangement or contracted separately.
